Why Choose the Ag59600 PoE PD?
The Ag59600 PoE IEEE802.3bt Class 6 (51W) modules were specifically developed to support 4-pair powering (4PPoE) for designers requiring higher power than PoE+, but not the maximum power (100W) provided by PoE++. Products operating at the maximum power levels defined by IEEE802.3bt, typically require large form factor components to deliver the power. However, Silvertel was able to reduce the module footprint considerably using a surface mount (SMT) format and their expert design capabilities. Utilizing gold block terminals to promote good thermal transfer to the host PCB, the Ag59600 series minimizes wasted energy (efficiency of 92-93% for the 12V variant) and provides the necessary Identification, Classification, Isolation, and DC-DC Conversion features required of a PD. Additionally, output voltage adjustment is possible with an external resistor.
Operating at an industrial temperature range of -40oC to +85oC, the Ag59600 incorporates over-voltage, over-current, and thermal protection to provide a robust PoE solution. Comprehensive Ag59600 Evaluation Tools and Resources
The Ag59600 series includes two evaluation boards (EVBs) (EVALAg59612-LPB and EVALAg59624-LPB) for testing and evaluating the Ag59612-LPB and Ag59624-LPB SMT PoE++ PD modules. These evaluation boards are compatible with Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE) that supplies power over spare or data pairs and can also be used with Silvertel’s Ag6130 or Ag6800 PSEs. In addition to the EVBs, Silvertel offers application notes, schematics, and rapid engineering and customer support to set circuit and system designers up for success.
