In an interview with CNBC Africa, GSMA lead analyst, Kenechi Okeleke, claims the mobile industry is responsible for creating 3 million jobs in sub-Saharan Africa. By 2022, the GSMA expects the mobile economy to add $150Bn to Africa's GDP.
