The MultiTech SocketModem Cell is the industry’s top-selling operator certified, embedded, end platform modem family. These new 4G-LTE Cat 1 models offer peak upload data rates of up to 5 Mbps and download data rates of up to 10 Mbp and are ideally suited for long lifetime IoT applications that require lower data rates (2G replacement) as well as and battery- or solar operated devices.

The new 4G-LTE Cat 1 models will be available for connectivity to Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile as well as Canadian operators. Shipping in volume Q4 2016, samples are available now for qualified customer projects. The SocketModem Cell are complete, ready-to-integrate, high availability embedded modems with models offering 4G-LTE Cat 3, 3G-HSPA+, GSM, CDMA and now LTE Cat 1 3GPP Release 8 functionality. These quick-to-market communications devices allow developers to add wireless communication to products with high reuse of hardware footprint, software integration and certifications, thereby minimizing development time and expense. The SocketModem Cell modems are based on industry-standard open interfaces and use MultiTech’s Universal Socket design.
