The Minnesota High Tech Association (MHTA) has named NimbeLink a cellular iot company, as a finalist in the Internet of Things category for the 2016 Tekne Awards, which will be held at the Minneapolis Convention Center on Wednesday, Nov. 16. The Tekne Awards honor Minnesota companies and individuals who have shown superior technology innovation and leadership.

NimbeLink is a rapid cellular IoT solutions company dedicated to taking the complexity out of cellular data communication. The company creates easy-to-use devices for cellular access for developers of products for the fast-growing “Internet of Things.” The company helps customers speed innovative products to market by releasing new embedded modems like Cat1 LTE and Cat M1 as quickly as service providers offer new IoT-specific services on their networks.

But what really sets NimbeLink apart is an entire ecosystem designed to add cellular access to customers’ products faster than anyone else. NimbeLink’s Skywire embedded modems are the smallest in the industry and all share the same standard footprint. NimbeLink also provides a variety of developer kits, adapters, capes, and software libraries, allowing developers to quickly configure and test new product designs incorporating Skywire modems.

“As in any fast-growing market, winners in the Internet of Things space will be companies that reach the market quickly with fully realized products,” says NimbeLink CEO, Scott Schwalbe. “Instead of using cellular chipsets or modules, which require laborious engineering and costly end-device certification, designers can use NimbeLink Skywire modems to speed up development and free their own resources to focus on other aspects of their product design to reach the market ahead of the competition.”

Presented by the MHTA, the Tekne Awards annually recognize Minnesota’s best and brightest technology users and developers in innovation, development, education, commercialization and management. A full list of finalists is available online at http://www.tekneawards.org.

“Each year, MHTA seeks out companies and people leading the way in innovation in Minnesota,” said Margaret Anderson Kelliher, president and CEO of MHTA. “These advancements are changing the way people all over the world live and work, and the Tekne Awards recognize those achievements.”

The 17th annual Tekne Awards program will begin at 4:30 p.m. with a VIP registration and reception, followed by general registration and cocktails at 5 p.m. The awards ceremony will commence at 7 p.m., with a post-event reception at 8:30 p.m. The event will be emceed by Paul Douglas, author, entrepreneur and meteorologist.

NimbeLink is the innovation leader in embedded cellular technology for today’s machine-to-machine and Internet of Things solutions. Our award-winning Skywire™ modems and related software and services enable OEM customers to easily develop end-device certified IoT solutions for faster time to market.
