TRINAMIC Breakout Boards For Rapid Prototyping | Symmetry Blog
Work smarter, not harder.
Using breakout boards is the smarter way to develop your prototype and get your minimum viable product (MVP) up and running.
CNC Router Source defines breakout boards as “common electrical components that take a bundled cable and ‘breaks out’ each conductor to a terminal that can easily accept a hook-up wire for distribution to another device.”1 One example of this would be having three simple bipolar stepper motors, each with the normal 4 wires. The wiring schematic would look something like the this:
Here, the breakout board provides circuit protection and signal distribution, making it easier to connect with the project circuit.
Trinamic Breakout Boards
Trinamic has recently introduced a new line of easy-to-use breakout boards (BOBs) for rapid prototyping. Trinamic BOBs have everything needed to use the component, such as sense resistors, buffer capacitors, power MOSFETs and Ethernet connectors.
With Trinamic’s Technology Support Package (TTAP), software components like APIs and Eval code are provided, making it easy to immediately check how the motor performs with TMC chips while developing the application's software. Comprehensive documentation helps you stay on track, keeping the design process stress-free.
Trinamic’s new line of breakout boards include:
TMC2041-BOB
TMC261-BOB
TMC262-BOB30
TMC262-BOB40
TMC262-BOB60
TMC2660-BOB
TMC429-BOB
TMC4361A-BOB
TMC5041-BOB
TMC5072-BOB
TMC5130A-BOB
Trinamic also recently announced their new line of single axis stepper motor: the TMC5160, a single-axis stepper motor driver IC with serial communication interfaces for 2-phase bipolar stepper motors with external MOSFETs for up to 20A motor current per coil.
