The IoT Meets the Edge
On Thursday, February 27, 2019 from 11:30am – 12:00pm in the Conference Counter NCC, these embedded experts will discuss what it takes to bring intelligence to the next generation of technology demands, connectivity between multiple devices, third-party applications, and layers of the compute stack. In addition, they will discuss how an efficient edge solution’s compute capability can deploy and scale to fit application needs, optimize both performance and cost, and enable adaptation for value extension over time. For the IoT, they will cover these six design principles for an efficient edge:
- Reduce Connectivity Costs with Edge-Based Analytics
- Deploy Partitioned Edge-Compute and Avoid Purpose-Built Edge Computers
- Use Balanced, Distributed Compute to Optimize Cost While Maximizing Efficiency
- Reduce Latency and make Applications more Available and Effective Through Edge Programmability
- Manage Connectivity to the Edge
- Extend the Life of IoT Deployments with Hardware-Enabled, Software-Defined Edge Devices
A balance of cloud and edge computing, along with a renewed focused on the right hardware can help companies deliver intelligence everywhere. Attend this session to learn how to extend your compute capabilities to the edge of the IoT. The Digi team will be exhibiting in Hall 3, Booth 629 and will be featured in a number of partner booths. Stayed tuned for more details, and information about new product demonstrations that will be on display.
